Diabetic retinopathy is the complication of high blood sugar affecting the retina. It damages the blood vessels of the retina causing damage of the part or whole of the retina over a period of time.

He completed mbbs from bangalore medical college and research institute, bangalore in 1989 and ms – ophthalmology from karnataka institute of medical sciences, hubli, (kims) in 1994.
